H2S, Hydrogen Sulfide Analyzer
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) is a poisonous gas with a strong odour. It is present in high concentrations in petroleum, natural gas and crude oil. The corrosive property of H2S makes it essential for refineries to measure its concentration in several steps during the process. Dry colorimetric analysis using non toxic Sensi-Tape detects Sulphur concentration in the sample using a Sensi-tape that is specific to H2S.
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Monitoring of Liquified Petroleum Gas and Natural Gas
The U. S. Department of Transportation has regulated the amount of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) allowable during the transport of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) and natural gas, due to the caustic nature of H2S. Tanker loads must be checked for H2S concentration before they can be allowed on the nation’s highways, railways and waterways. H2S reacts with stainless steal containment systems, such as those used in transporting LPG, which could lead to failure or rupture of the container and cause potentially fatal leaks or explosions if ignited. Hydrogen sulfide monitoring is necessary at certain pipeline transmission checkpoints for the same reasons. C.I. Analytics can give you peace of mind by verifying that your tanker load H2S limits are well below the safety requirements.
