Total Chlorides Analyzer
Over the last decade, the importance of detecting chlorine in gas and LPG products has increased dramatically. This is likely related due to the necessity of complying with increasingly stringent government regulations, protecting expensive catalysts, and ensuring product quality. The chloride analyzer used in polypropylene or polyethylene production must now have the ability to detect chlorides from 1 part-per-billion to 10 parts per million. Chlorides play a big role in corrosion related problems: organically bound chlorides form hydrochloric acid in the process lines. Hydrochloric acid, present as impurity, is the main cause of corrosion of pipelines, vessels and valves.
